What to Know Before Your First Boudoir Session at My Cozy Calgary Studio

If you’re thinking about booking a boudoir session in Calgary, or you’ve already booked your shoot and are wondering what to expect—welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. Boudoir photography can be empowering, intimate, fun, and a huge confidence boost—and it all starts with the right space and support.

My cozy home studio in Calgary is designed to make you feel safe, comfortable, and beautiful in your own skin. Whether this is your first boudoir shoot or you're just looking for the right photographer, here’s everything you need to know before stepping in front of the camera.

1. Skip Tight Clothing Before Your Boudoir Shoot

To avoid marks or indentations on your skin, I recommend arriving in loose, comfy clothing. Think cozy sweatpants, robes, or oversized shirts—anything that won’t leave lines on your skin before your shoot. This small detail makes a big difference in your final photos.

2. Bring Your Own Lingerie or Favourite Set

You’re welcome to bring your favourite lingerie, matching sets, or even something unique like an oversized sweater or button-up shirt. Wearing pieces that make you feel you—whether that’s sultry, playful, or soft—is key to an authentic boudoir experience.

I also have a client closet with layering pieces you can borrow—think sheer robes, jackets, and textured fabrics to add a creative touch to your session.

3. Yes, You Can Bring a Friend

If it helps you feel more at ease, feel free to bring a trusted friend to your Calgary boudoir session. Some people like the added comfort of having someone they know in the room, and I fully support that. Think of them as your personal cheerleader!

4. My Calgary Boudoir Studio Is Fully Customizable

My boudoir studio in Calgary includes a cozy bedroom setup, customizable bedsheets, soft natural light, and backdrops to suit your vision. Whether you want a dreamy and romantic look, something moody and dramatic, or clean and minimal—I’ll tailor the environment to match your energy and style.

5. Comfort Is Non-Negotiable

Let’s be clear: you should always feel safe and respected during a boudoir shoot. I check in with every client throughout the session to make sure you’re feeling good about the poses, the vibe, and the overall experience.

You never have to do a pose that doesn’t feel right, and you’re encouraged to speak up at any time. Your comfort and boundaries matter—this is your shoot, your body, your story.

6. You’ll Choose Your Final 10 Images

After your shoot, I’ll send you a proof gallery where you can select your favorite 10 images. If you love more than 10, you’re welcome to add extra images to your package. These are beautifully edited, high-resolution portraits you'll be proud to keep, share, or gift.

Boudoir Photography in Calgary That Feels Like You

Boudoir doesn’t have to look one specific way. It can be soft, edgy, playful, raw, or glamorous. It can be done just for you, for someone you love, or just because you want to capture how powerful and beautiful you really are.

As a Calgary boudoir photographer, I’m here to make this experience comfortable, creative, and fully aligned with your vision.

I respectfully acknowledge that my studio in Calgary is located on the traditional territories of the Treaty 7 nations, which include the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprising the Siksika, Kainai, and Piikani First Nations), the Tsuut’ina Nation, and the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations (comprising the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Wesley First Nations).

This land is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3. I honor and recognize the deep connection that Indigenous peoples have to this land and their ongoing contributions to the community and culture in this region.

With gratitude, I work and create on this beautiful land.
